In 1987, a group of women at a prayer meeting were introduced to a retreat by Bernadette Mooring. The following year we attended our first retreat together at Blue Mountain with "Women Aglow." We stayed in the Farmhouse where we experienced a grown-up pajama party complete with bunk beds. We continued each year attending retreats first with "Women Aglow" and then with "Christian Women." In 1992 several of us felt God leading us away from the large group gathering at Blue Mountain to a smaller more intimate place in Him. (God Speaks through His Spirit.)

That night when we went to our session, the speaker Rev. Evelyn Spencer known as "Rev. Ev" gave a powerful message. We (Bernadette Mooring, Diane Ashford and Marie Tucker) went up to hug her and tell her how blessed we were by her message and she looked at us and told us we would not be coming back to that mountain for a retreat, that God had another plan for us. The following year in 1993 a small group of us retreated at Willow Valley for the last time with "Women Aglow." Rev. Ev was right! God was leading us in a different direction and to a new place. Mark 6:31 reads- And He said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going and they had no leisure so much as to eat. The Lord knows that His people sometimes need to get away to a quiet place where they can be still and spend time with Him. In 1994 we hosted our first retreat at Sandy Cove. The theme for that retreat was "Come Away My Beloved." (God speaks through His Word.)

In 1994 we began our ministry with seven women (Nancy Jones, Rev. Anita Edwards, Evelyn Cook, Ethel Harris, Bernadette Mooring, Marie Tucker and Barbara Ponton) under the name of Women reaching Women (WRW). In 2003 the Lord added several new women to the ministry. Everyone is working together using their spiritual gifts to bless one another and to bless other women God sends our way. The new members are: Ruth Pressley, Doris Tyler, Nicol Brodie, Wanda Gigetts, Barbara Brown, Audry Butler, Hazel Pierce and Lisa Drumgoole.
